Transfer Bath Bench

Specifications:

Carton Size:820*460*460mm

Packing Quantity:2pcs/ctn

A transfer bath bench is a mobility device that helps people with limited mobility enter and exit a bathtub or shower by straddling the tub's edge, allowing them to sit and slide over the tub wall instead of stepping over it. This reduces the risk of falls and injuries, providing a stable seat while bathing.

How it works:

Placement: The bench is positioned so that two legs are on the bathroom floor and two are inside the bathtub.

Transfer In: The user sits on the portion of the bench outside the tub, then slides their body across the seat to get inside the tub. They swing their legs over the tub wall while remaining seated.

Transfer Out: The process is reversed to exit the tub.

Who it's for:

Individuals with limited mobility, fatigue, or poor balance.

People recovering from surgery, injury, or certain illnesses.

Seniors who need assistance getting in and out of the tub safely.

Key Features:

Sliding design:

Allows users to move from outside to inside the tub without stepping over the threshold.

Height-adjustable legs:

Ensures a custom fit for different tub heights and users.

Stability:

Features non-slip, rubber feet to keep the bench securely in place on wet surfaces.

Drainage holes:

Built into the seat to prevent water from pooling.

Optional features:

May include a backrest, armrest, and holders for a handheld shower hose.

Benefits:

Enhanced safety:

Significantly reduces the risk of falls and slips in the bathroom.

Increased independence:

Allows users to bathe more easily and confidently.

Cost-effective:

A practical alternative to more expensive bathroom modifications.

To use a transfer bath bench, you first place the bench correctly with two legs inside the tub and two outside, ensuring suction cups are on the inside for stability and the seat is at a comfortable height. Then, you approach the bench, back up to it, and sit down. Next, scoot back on the bench, then carefully lift one leg over the tub edge at a time, turning your body to face the showerhead as you move. To get out, reverse the process, sliding to the side, lifting your legs over, and then standing up.

Setup Steps

Position the bench: Place the transfer bench so two legs are inside the tub and two legs are outside, sitting on the flat part of the bath's edge.

Secure the bench: Ensure the legs with suction cups are firmly on the inside of the tub, and the bench is stable and level.

Adjust height: Set the bench's seat height so that when you sit, your feet are at an appropriate height for easy transfers (e.g., just above knee height).

Getting In

Approach the bench: Stand with your back to the bench and shuffle until the back of your knees touch the bench.

Sit down: Use the grab bar on the bench and slowly lower yourself into a sitting position.

Scoot back: Slide backward on the bench.

Lift legs: Carefully lift your leg closest to the tub over the edge. You can then turn your body to face the shower.

Swing the other leg: Lift your second leg over the tub edge.

Getting Out

Prepare the curtain: You can tuck one side of the shower curtain inside the tub, around the back of the bench, to keep the floor dry.

Slide over: Slide on the bench toward the side of the tub.

Lift legs: Lift one leg over the tub edge onto the outside floor.

Repeat: Lift your second leg over the tub edge.

Stand up: Use your arms on the bench to push up and stand up.

Tips for Use

Grab bars

: Use the built-in grab bar for support.

Keep floor dry

: Use the transfer bench's design and a properly positioned shower curtain to keep water from running onto the bathroom floor.

Avoid twisting

: Do not twist your body, especially if you have recently had surgery on your hip or knee.

Use a handheld shower

: A handheld shower hose can make it easier to wash without bending.
